Ch 1 - Reign in Life

Romans 5:17 

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; 

much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness 

shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

Reign in life means to reign over sins, over sickness, over poverty, and over the devils!

How to reign in life?
Clearly stated in above verse, we shall reign in life through Jesus Christ by receiving abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness

We receive Abundance of grace and gift of righteousness when we receive Jesus Christ as our savior and believe in the works He has done on the cross.

When we receive Jesus Christ as our savior we receive the greatest miracle and gift of all - saved from hell. Our sins are forgiven forever and ever. But that's not it.. we will also reign in life! How great is our God? :)

Receiving vs Achieving

Back to the verse and note the word "receive" and "gift".. not "achieve".. Grace is not something we achieve but something we receive.. it's a gift from God..

This understanding changed my life for example in serving at church. I used to serve at church because I want to get blessings, protections, etc from God. Now I know better. All those things have been given to me for free so now I serve Him because I'm grateful for what he's done ..
With this, serving God is so much easier, lighter, no longer a burden, and I can be at rest.

This can be applied on our daily lives - on our relationships, work, school, etc.. We will do our best in everything for the purpose of glorifying His name and while at the same time doing everything at rest knowing that God is with us and God wants the best for us.

Let's stop trying to achieve His grace and forgiveness as we have received those for free. Instead let's focus on His kindness and His love for us.
